Dr. Zaborowicz is a sports medicine physician specializing in non-operative orthopedic care, fracture management, sports injuries, concussion management, injury prevention, and sports performance. He works with athletes of any age to help them recover from injuries, get back to the sports they love, and perform at their best.  After earning his medical degree from St. George’s University, he completed his residency at Ascension Genesys in Grand Blanc, followed by a fellowship in non-surgical sports medicine at Meharry Medical College in Nashville.

 

Dr. Zaborowicz is passionate about youth athletics, athlete nutrition, healthy lifestyles, and injury prevention. His non-operative treatment approach includes traditional measures including basic evaluation, injection therapy and acute/chronic orthopedic condition management.  He also has a special interest in ultrasound and ultrasound guided procedures.  

 

Additionally, he enjoys specialized work with regenerative medicine, including platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and platelet poor plasma (PPP) injections, shockwave therapy, wet needling, prolotherapy and Tenex/Tenjet procedures.  He works closely with our Orthopedic surgery team as well as our highly trained sports performance therapists to provide a individualized management plan with an inclusive/team approach to rehabilitation, return-to-play, injury prevention, and performance optimization.

 

He loves being part of the Flint and Genesee county community. He currently serves as the Head Team Physician for the Flint Firebirds which he is now entering his 4th year of work with the team.  He works closely with local athletic directors, athletic trainers, coaches, and sports programs throughout the area. He is currently the medical director for Swartz Creek high school.  He also enjoys working with physicians in training and is involved with both McLaren Flint and Henry Ford Genesys family medicine residency programs.  Through these relationships, Dr. Zaborowicz helps provide athletes with timely access to various treatment options. His close collaboration with athletic staff helps create a team-based approach to keeping athletes healthy, safe, and performing at their best.
